Microsoft Reveals January’s Xbox Live Games With Gold Lineup

Heads up, Xbox Live Gold members: Microsoft just revealed the list of titles you can get for free next month.

Like usual, you’ll get four free games in January — two on Xbox One and two on Xbox 360.

On Xbox One, Live Gold members can download tower defense game World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap, normally priced at $19.99, for free all month. Fighting game Killer Instinct Season 2 Ultra Edition, which would normally set you back $39.99, will be available gratis from Jan. 16 through Feb. 15.

On Xbox 360, meanwhile, adventure game The Cave, normally priced at $14.99, will be available for free from Jan. 1 through Jan. 15. Then from Jan. 16 through Jan. 31, you’ll be able to download the $15 comic adventure game Rayman Origins at no charge. Note that you can play both of these Xbox 360 titles on your Xbox One, thanks to the console’s backward-compatibility feature.

For the uninitiated, Games with Gold first launched in the summer of 2013, offering free games every month to those with an Xbox Live Gold subscription (which will set you back $10 a month or $60 annually). Besides the free games, a subscription gets you multiplayer capabilities and some exclusive discounts in Xbox stores.

Meanwhile, as part of this month’s Games with Gold booty, you can still pick up Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition and Outlast on Xbox One and Burnout Paradise on Xbox 360 for free.

If you’re not yet an Xbox Live member, meanwhile, get a 12-month Gold membership for $49.99 right now, a $10 discount.
